The Design Guide

Your invitations set the mood for your entire wedding, giving your guests a sneak peak of the style and feel you have chosen. Below are some ideas on how you can customise your invitations by choosing from a selection of premium print methods, paper stocks and colours.

Print Methods

Flat Digital Print

Flat digital printing onto paper will give your invitations a smooth, clean finish. This is the most standard and cost-effective printing option. All digital printed invitations will be printed onto beautiful uncoated 300-350gsm paper.

Digital printing can be done on any cardstock thickness. If your design has lots of colour, we recommend choosing a white cardstock so the colours come up sharp and crisp.

White Ink

White ink printing is a similar method to digital colour printing in that it gives a flat print, however instead of printing in colour, it is printed in white ink. This is best used on medium to dark coloured cardstocks.

White ink printing can be done on any card stock thickness. When choosing a paper colour, pick a darker stock, rather than light stocks, as of course white ink will not show up on white stock.

Letterpress

Letterpress printing is created by pressing a metal plate of your design into a thick cardstock to give a beautiful, luxurious effect. It is more complex and costly than digital printing, as it has a lengthy set up involved.

Letterpress can be done on 300gsm+ stocks, but the thicker the stock, the deeper the impression. We recommend using a 600gsm cardstock for the best results. White/light coloured stocks are suitable for letterpress printing.

Foil Press

Foil press has a similar process to letterpress printing, but instead of using ink, your design is pressed into the paper with shiny foil using a metal hot plate. Available in gold, rose gold, copper, silver and more.

Foiling can be done on 300gsm+ cardstock, but the thicker the stock, the better the result. It also works beautifully on both light and dark coloured cardstocks. It is the most costly printing method, but well worth the investment.

Uncoated Paper Colours

Our paper stocks have been carefully selected to bring you a range of premium stationery items. We work closely with Australia’s best printers to ensure your invitations are printed at the highest quality every time.

Colours marked with a * are available in 300gsm and 600gsm. These are great for letterpress and foiling.

White ink printing is only suitable on darker-coloured papers.

*Note: Colours may appear different on screen and when printed. Subject to availability and what's in stock at the time of printing process.
